punctum collective
p u n c t u m collective is an international contemporary music ensemble and a Verein based in Vienna. Their repertoire includes pieces from the xx-xxi century and those written specially for them (works by Katharina Klement, Daniela Terranova, Zach Thomas, Nava Hemyari, Evgeny Ignashev and others). With a selection of acoustic, electroacoustic, live electronic and performative pieces punctum aims to create a mesmerizing sonic mosaic to pique one's curiosity, touch emotionally and counter or challenge occasionally. Venues play an important part in punctum’s concert concepts: acoustic, architectural, and light properties of the space are augmented and interacted with for each particular event.
As a Verein (cultural union) punctum’s mission is to offer the audience experiences at the intersection of contemporary music and transmedia art: to design inspiring events contributing to the evolution of the field — immersive musical journeys with audiovisual, performative, installative and free improvisation elements, transcending the era and genre-constrained approach.
punctum collective are Sarah Maria Dragović (viola, sound objects), Konstanze Heinicke (violin), Eirini Krikoni (violin), Jake Mann (clarinet, bass clarinet), Nava Hemyari (voice, composition, electronics), Evgeny Ignashev (composition, electronics, sound art).
