We are a group of women working together in management and leadership roles across the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors in Sheffield.
A small group of us had repeatedly discussed the need for peer support, and safe space to explore what it is to be a woman working in these roles in these sectors.
This led to a couple of meet ups: the first very much a social event, the second with a more facilitated structure in which we discussed what we are trying to achieve, and our principles for working/being together.
This group is for anyone who self-identifies as a woman.
What are we trying to achieve?
- Leadership through a female lens: Creating a network of women who have the confidence to lead, both within our organisations and within the city.
- Acknowledging and embracing our own leadership styles and creating a space for recognising the challenges of being a woman in a leadership role.
- Support, learning and shared experience: Supporting and encouraging more women into leadership roles by providing peer support, sharing experiences and learning opportunities.
- Providing opportunities to share ideas, feel inspired, seek feedback and encouragement.
