How Weird is a celebration of peace, creativity, and weirdness. The faire features music and art, a unique and quirky marketplace, a cannabis education area, many performances, and a wide range of excitement. There will be thousands of people in colorful costumes dancing in the streets of San Francisco.
There will be printed programs at the faire, with the map and music schedules and magic specials and a whole lot more. Grab one on your way into the faire.
A Magic Pass! This year it is a bracelet.The faire costs $20 at the entrances, and $15 in advance, and comes with a Magic Pass that includes many discounts, specials, and free things throughout the event. If you like to shop or eat, then you will probably end up saving money with the pass. The faire recommends getting the presale passes to save money and time when arriving. Early bird passes will be $11.11 for a limited time.

The How Weird Street Faire showcases some of the best electronic dance music played on some of the world’s most advanced sound technology. Cutting-edge artists from across the Bay Area provide an unforgettable dance experience. For 2019, there will be 9 stages of music, representing different communities and musical styles, including house, techno, trance, breaks, bass, dub, downtempo, world beat, and some mashups of everything else. Together they form one of the most diverse and talented electronic music festivals.There will be plenty to dance to, and plenty to enjoy.The How Weird Marketplace    The How Weird Street Faire is filled with over 100 vendors from around the world selling unique and designer goods. From clothing to art to jewelry and accessories, you can find interesting things and new styles for the beginning of the 2019 festival season. How Weird features an unusually diverse shopping experience that you won’t find anywhere else. Food trucks and local restaurants will offer a wide variety of meals, and there will be delicious drinks. There will be visionary artists from around the Bay Area, along with the sounds of dub music.  Green Alley    Green Alley will be located on 2nd Street this year. It will be filled with cannabis-related booths, educational opportunities, and visionary presentations. The Green Alley stage will feature inspiring talks and downtempo music by Six Degrees Records. Come learn and be delighted by the evolution of cannabis culture. There will be useful information and networking, but no sales of cannabis at the faire this year.

It is very difficult to find parking these days. The How Weird Street Faire is located a short walk from Market Street and the Montgomery BART station, as well as Transbay Terminal, Caltrains Station, and many MUNI lines.How Weird welcomes all ages, and all types of people. The faire is handicapped accessible. Glass bottles and weapons are not allowed in the faire, bags may be searched when entering. Celebrate How Weird Day with the How Weird Day Parade
May 6, 2018 is officially “How Weird Day”, as declared by the Board of Supervisors of the city and county of San Francisco. San Francisco deserves a holiday that celebrates weirdness, creativity, and peace. So do all people. Festivities include dancing and the inaugural How Weird Day Parade. The parade will start at Howard and 1st Street at 2:22 pm and wind its way through the faire, complete with marching bands and assorted weirdness. Emperor Norton I will be leading the How Weird Day Parade, and the Mission Delirium Brass Band will be playing music. The parade will stop at the Green Alley stage near Tehama and 1st Street, where the founder of the faire Brad Olsen will read the San Francisco Proclamation declaring How Weird Day.

In the not too far away future, we shall harken back to a simpler time, a funkier time, a more colorful time. It was a time of bellbottoms and big collars. A time of big cars and bigger hair. A time when lava lamps lit the land, and rocks were pets. Remember when fun was really fun?The Disco Ball Inferno - a powerful theme based on a true story. The greatest story ever danced!

ART ALLEY
Art Alley will shine once again with the abundance of creativity that the San Francisco Bay Area is famous for. There will be live and exhibited artwork in a rustic urban setting. Be inspired by the wonders. There will also be local arts and crafts vendors, and ambient music from local legends SomaFM.
HOW WEIRD MARKETPLACE
There will be unique and exciting vendors from around the world selling designer goods, clothing, jewelry, art, food, and drinks. Come find new things for the 2018 festival season. From the weird to the wonderful, you can find it all. Plus each vendor and bar will be offering specials that come with Magic Pass!
GREEN ALLEY
Green Alley will be located on Tehama Street near 1st Street this year. It will be filled with cannabis-related booths, educational opportunities, and visionary presentations. The Green Alley stage will feature inspiring talks and groovy downtempo music by Six Degrees Records. Come learn and be delighted by the evolution of cannabis culture. There will be useful information but no sales of cannabis at the faire this year.
ENTRANCES
Less waiting, more fun! We will be introducing many changes to reduce the wait time at arrival, and will be adding a 4th entrance this year. The entrances will be at…Howard & New Montgomery StreetsHoward & First StreetsSecond & Folsom StreetsSecond & Mission StreetsWe strongly recommend taking public transportation to the faire. We are very close to MUNI, BART, regional bus, and Caltrain stops. The faire is a short walk from Montgomery and Market Streets. It can be hard to find parking near the faire, many new building have gone up recently.
MAGIC PASSES
The entrance pass will cost $20 at the door.This year the Magic Pass is required for entry to the faire. In the past, the entrance has been a sliding scale donation. We are working with the city to increase security and help control the crowds, while making the faire experience better for everyone. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we moved there, and we are grateful to be there. The passes will still be Magical. There will be specials at all the faire vendors, including discounts and fun activities and free things. The cost of presale passes are $15, or early bird presales for only $11.11.The early bird presales have ended.
If you really want to enjoy the faire in comfort, there is the Exceptionally Weird VIP Experience, which includes a cozy lounge on Natoma Street with bathrooms, couches and chairs, tables, and a bar. Included in the experience is a free drink, a sticker, and a large poster. Plus there will be special music from DJ Seven, DJ Sol, and Terbo Ted. The Exceptionally Weird VIP Experience is $50 and includes all the magic specials.

On May 7, 2017, a unique gathering of the tribes will occur in downtown San Francisco for a Celebration of Peace. It will be a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, and the 18th annual How Weird Street Faire, featuring the current generation of creative countercultures. Bring flowers, bring costumes, bring love, bring peace.
We join together to affirm our unity, generate waves of joy, and expand our consciousness. Turn on, tune in, and be weird.There will be dancing in the streets at 11 stages of world-class electronic music, spectacular performances, fantastic foods, unique vendors, visionary art, inspiring creativity, and peace technology exhibits. The faire will take place from Noon to 8pm, come early to catch all of the fun.How Weird is centered at Howard and 2nd Streets, San Francisco, Earth. Located at the convergence of art and technology for the city, and the world. The faire is easily accessible by public transportation, while parking has become very difficult. It is a short walk to the Montgomery Station on Market Street.The How Weird theme for 2017 is “Summer of Weird”, paying tribute to the cultural pioneers that inspired us and brought us further, while celebrating the continuing evolution of culture and expression. Participants are encouraged to come with flowers in their hair, and colorful costumes suitable for dancing. There are lots of exciting additions to the faire this year! 
New this year is Circus Alley on Minna Street, featuring a music stage by Skyhigh Odditorium and aerial performances. There will be entertainment curated by Madamn Burnz, including handbalancing acts, contortionists, pole arcobatics, and performance dance. Circus Alley will be an interactive environment with face painters, stilt walkers, and clowns, as well as a diverse line-up of music throughout the day with Cerebellum Projekt.
Also new this year is Green Alley, an exhibition of hemp and cannabis culture. Green Alley will feature select exhibitors, the Canna Education Center with a wide range of talks, and a dub music stage by Mountain Lion Hi-Fi. Talk topics include legal information, medical applications, grow technology, and information about the hemp plant. Speakers include Tim Blake, Swami Chaitanya and Nikki Lastreto, Ed Rosenthal, Patrick Goggin, and more. Green Alley will be located on Tehama Street off of 2nd Street, across from Art Alley. Green Alley is open to all How Weird Street Faire participants. There will be no sales of cannabis at the faire.
Art Alley will be overflowing with sensational delights this year, filling Tehama Street from 2nd to 1st Streets. There will be a new craft area from San Francisco’s Museum of Craft and Design, featuring an interactive booth where participants can make flower arrangements for their hair. Surrounding that will be live and exhibited artwork and local art vendors, showcasing the extreme creativity of the Bay Area.

For 2017, there will be a special new item… the Magic Button.
The Magic Button is a collectible metal pin button will go to those that give $20 at the faire entrances, or for less in advance online. The Magic Button is available in limited quantities. Everyone who orders a presale Magic Button will receive a button!
The Magic Button comes with lots of freebies and discounts at the vendors, including $2 off drinks at the bars. There will also be fun activities and exciting specials. Enjoy all that the faire has to offer!

A REVOLUTION YOU CAN DANCE TO!
The legendary soundtrack for the Summer of Weird will be provided by Northern California sound collectives, including the CCC, SomaFM, Symbiosis, Muti Music, Enchanted Forest, Northern Nights, Pulse SF, Temple Nightclub, Mountain Lion Hi-Fi, Underground Nomads, Cypher Sessions, Solid Gold Jacuzzi, Skyhigh Odditorium, and more.There will also be a Lagunitas Beer Circus off the center intersection with exciting performances and music and lots of fun games to play.The How Weird Street Faire features some of the top stage producers, DJs, and sound systems on the planet. They will be featuring a wide range of electronic dance music by local and international artists. How Weird is an annual reunion of the tribes for electronic music dancers of all sorts.
