SGLA LARE Prep - 2026

Sarah has been helping landscape designers hone their technical skills since 2002. She is an experienced landscape architect with extensive Bay Area design, project management, and construction experience across a wide range of client and project types. Over the course of her career, she has worked with design build contractors, private residential clients, and large private and public sector multidisciplinary teams. She is a Senior Project Manager at Thuilot Associates, where she manages multifamily residential renovation and commercial development projects.As an instructor, Sarah began her teaching career working with Ray Freeman, co-teaching the Freeman & Jewell LARE Preparatory Course. She has developed or taught college-level course content technical issues related to planting design, business practices, grading, construction detailing, and stormwater management.for many Bay Area institutions, including UC Berkeley, Merritt College, Academy of Art University, and the Berkeley Owner Builder Center. She continues to teach through her own professional development portal at www.sarahgronquist.com and as a trainer for ReScape, California.
