London Park School Clapham

London Park School Clapham opened its doors in September 2023 at a temporary site opposite Tooting Common at what used to be Northwood Senior at 3 Garrad's Road, SW16. In April 2024 we moved into our permanent home in two beautiful Victorian mansion buildings, minutes from Clapham South tube station and opposite the Common. The buildings are Grade II listed, and we have been sensitively and sustainably renovating these buildings.

LPS Clapham is the first school under the LPS banner and together with LPS Mayfair and LPS Sixth (previously Eaton Square Senior & Sixth), form the London Park Schools group. Whilst each site has its own Head, its own staff and own identity, they all share common values and ethos and are under the direction of one Principal, Suzie Longstaff, previously Head of Putney High. Because each school is relatively small, we offer agility, personalised learning and the ability to move swiftly to take advantage of changing needs. Students and staff join together for sporting activities and initiatives, thus gaining the best of both - the support and warmth of a smaller community and the scope and scale of a larger setting.

Our school combines the care and support of a smaller school, with the opportunities and facilities of a larger one. As a relatively new school we are not bound by history or tradition, we can be innovative and design every element of our school around 21st century students and their future needs.Northwood Senior school students helped to create the nucleus of the founding cohort, but have been joined by others from schools all around the South West London area. This means that on becoming LPS Clapham we already had Years 7,8,9 and 10 in place.

We have a strong academic core, offering excellent value added and bespoke support; a warm and inclusive ethos; plenty of co-curricular activities; and a programme to develop life skills. We have a strong focus on integrated learning, design thinking and experiential learning and make full use of our London home. Exams matter to us, but these are simply part of our offer, not the destination. We encourage students to take no more than 8 or 9 subjects so that we can enrich our curriculum with other experiences - including opportunities for trips such as marine conservation in the Mediterranean and soil erosion in the alps.

Both LPS Clapham and LPS Mayfair students move on to London Park Sixth, located in Belgravia, a few minutes walk from Victoria Station which continues to offer the same personal and bespoke approach, enabling students to take subjects in most combinations. As members of the Dukes Education family, we also benefit from the opportuities offered by specialist university careers advisors.

We look forward to saying hello and welcoming you to our inclusive, positive and vibrant community.
