Shades Oasis
Debra Shade is a Clinical and Somatic Sexologist. With 13 years of experience in the sex education industry and health and whole-body wellness.
Ohio is now home to its very first Pleasure Education and Exposure Transformation Center—a groundbreaking space dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their right to pleasure and intimacy after trauma. Created by Clinical Sexologist Debra Shade, Shades Oasis offers a safe, respectful environment to explore sexual health, well-being, and healing.
In alignment with the Center for Women’s Health and the World Health Organization’s definition of sexual health, the center champions a vision of sexual wellness that emphasizes "physical, mental, and social well-being in relation to sexuality.” This means providing a space that fosters a positive, respectful approach to sexuality and relationships, and where individuals can experience pleasurable, safe, and fulfilling connections, free from coercion, discrimination, and violence.
Alignment with talk therapy closes a gap in pleasure recovery and intimate comfort. Ohio, we incorporate exposure therapy to guide individuals through overcoming barriers to intimacy and pleasure. This therapeutic approach, paired with holistic sexual wellness, empowers individuals to find healing after trauma and break free from generational stigma, societal constraints, and religious influences.
After a violation or trauma, rediscovering pleasure and intimacy can be an essential step in rebuilding healthy relationships and self-worth. Debra Shade’s wellness center offers compassionate support for this journey, guiding individuals beyond past obstacles to embrace healing and empowerment.
Together, we are reshaping the conversation around pleasure, intimacy, and healing for Ohio. Join us in this transformative journey.
